Tipping Point
The goal of the GCCA’s Prevention Initiative is to train 5% of the adult population in each county- reaching a Tipping Point at which cultural and behavioral norms are changed and a culture of child protection is created. A substantial percentage of the population becomes engaged, empowered and ready to make critical changes that promote the safety and well-being of children.
Reaching this tipping point will shift the culture around prevention.
As a result of our awareness, training and education efforts, child advocacy centers have opened in previously underserved communities, organizations are better equipped to create policies that protect both children and staff, and as the public has begun to understand the ripple effects that child sexual abuse creates, legislation has been passed to better protect the most vulnerable.
