Georgia’s Essentials for Childhood Initiative, in partnership with Gwinnett County Public Libraries, will be kicking off a Georgia Reads Book Club of What Happened to You? by Bruce D. Perry, MD, PhD and Oprah Winfrey.

Attend this virtual, statewide Georgia Reads kickoff event to:

  • Learn about the book
  • Understand how our state is working to address trauma, build resilience, and offer healing in communities
  • Get information and resources to host your own local book club on What Happened to You?

Become a Book Club Host

Be a part of the Georgia Reads Book Club by hosting local readings and discussions on “What Happened to You?”

Georgia Reads is looking for adults, neighborhood book clubs, libraries, community groups, faith-based organizations, civic clubs, or social service providers to host local discussions. Using our Georgia-specific discussion guide, hosts will facilitate conversations on the book’s main concepts including trauma, brain development, resilience, and healing. Discussions can be held in-person or virtually.
