Online Safety Presentation for Parents

Developed in partnership with the Kansas Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County, this presentation integrates research from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Common Sense Media. It equips parents and caregivers with the knowledge and tools to stay actively engaged in their children’s digital lives.

This comprehensive three-hour program explores nine major online risks:

  • Inappropriate content
  • Privacy breaches
  • Social media challenges
  • Online solicitation
  • Sexting
  • Sextortion
  • Video game interactions
  • Livestreaming
  • Cyberbullying

The session concludes with:

  • Warning signs that a child may be experiencing online risks
  • Reporting guidance for suspected incidents
  • Actionable tips for fostering safer online habits
  • Curated resources for continued education

The presentation can be customized for shorter time frames and delivered in person or virtually. A linguistically and culturally adapted version is also available for Spanish-speaking caregivers.
