Every day connections are more important than we ever believed. Science tells us that relationships have the power to shape our brains. Relationships help us learn better, work better, parent better. When we experience tough times, they help us heal. With each connection, we develop a healthier stronger community.

Healthy Outcomes of Positive Experiences
Every child needs positive childhood experiences (PCEs). PCEs help children grow into healthy adults.
Positive childhood experiences (PCEs) drive healthy child development and lessen the lifelong effects of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). PCEs help children build resilience and grow into thriving, healthy adults.
Everyone can promote PCEs.The Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences (HOPE) framework centers on those key types of PCEs to help everyone – parents and caregivers, professionals, organizations, and agencies – promote health and well-being for children and families.

Handle with Care (HWC) is a national model which aims to provide trauma informed support to children who are exposed to traumatic events, such as violence, abuse, or other crises in their home or community. When law enforcement or first responders encounter children during such events, they alert relevant school personnel and request that a child be “handled with care.” The school then monitors, offers mindful checki-ns, adjusts supports - academic, behavioral, emotional, and connects the child/family to further services if needed.
