Job Title: Forensic Interviewer
The Georgia Center for Child Advocacy (GCCA), a private, nonprofit Child Advocacy Center serving Fulton and DeKalb Counties, is seeking a qualified Forensic Interviewer to join our team.
This position will work primarily in DeKalb County, with occasional responsibilities in the Fulton County office as needed.
The Forensic Interviewer is responsible for conducting forensic and extended forensic interviews with children who are alleged victims of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, neglect, or witnesses to violence. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work effectively with vulnerable and complex populations by exhibiting empathy, professionalism, and emotional intelligence, while maintaining a positive attitude and the ability to perform well in high-pressure situations.
A working knowledge of child abuse dynamics, including sexual abuse, neglect, domestic violence, crisis intervention, trauma, and family systems, is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to apply this knowledge in a client-centered, trauma-informed manner.
Qualifications and Skills Include:
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to independently manage a dynamic workload
- Proficiency in computer and basic technology use
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities when working with complex family systems
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Experience as a Forensic Interviewer is preferred.
