Lip Sync Challenge

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and we’ve partnered with the popular music video app to bring awareness to one of the many devastating affects of abuse — silence. 

The statistics are staggering — of the thousands of children every year who face sexual abuse, it’s estimated that only 1 in 10 will ever speak up about it. Fear, anger, shame and intimidation are a few of the reasons a child may stay quiet, and we work to change this by encouraging conversations between children and parents around abuse and prevention.

The #WeStandTogether Lip Sync Challenge gives a platform for advocates to lend their voices to a child who has been silenced by abuse and opens up opportunities for dialogue around this difficult issue. Our online movement is open to anyone and participating is simple — make a video on and share it to spread awareness. 

Here’s how:

  1. Download the free app (App Store, Google Play)
  2. Search the hashtag #WeStandTogether 
  3. Select post video and record or upload yourself performing your favorite song.
  4. Post your video with the hashtag #WeStandTogether, then share via Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or other social channels.
